So my date brought a 'spirit animal' guide to dinner...

I matched with this girl on Hinge and she seemed normal enough. We agreed to meet at a Chili's in Tulsa for a first date. She showed up 20 minutes late and handed me a laminated card with a racoon on it saying that was my spirit animal for the evening. I laughed thinking it was a bit, but she was dead serious. She spent the next hour telling me my aura was 'blocked by beige colors' while I tried to eat my molten lava cake in peace. Has anyone else had a date try to give them a full personality reading over chips and salsa?

The whole "blocked by beige colors" thing is actually pretty funny since auras aren't really a scientific thing, they're more of a spiritual belief. Actually hold on lol, you're being way too dismissive here. Auras might not be science but tons of people take that stuff seriously, and if she's really into spiritual stuff then the beige thing probably made total sense to her in the moment. Spirit animal cards are literally a thing in a lot of new age circles too, not just party games. The whole date probably just got awkward because you two had completely different vibes and she was trying to find a polite way to say it didn't fit. Honestly sounds like she did you a favor by being honest early instead of wasting your time with someone who's way too grounded for her world.
