My buddy lost access to his whole family vault because he forgot the master password AND didn't set up the recovery options. THREE years of shared logins, wifi passwords, everything just gone. I always thought a password manager would save me from myself but that made me realize you can still mess it up pretty bad. Now I keep a physical copy of my master password in a lockbox just in case.

Man that's rough but honestly it feels like this is just how people treat all their digital stuff these days. We think one tool or one account will just magically keep everything safe but then we forget the one key piece that holds it all together. It's like people who backup their phone to icloud but never check if the backup actually ran or who trust their external hard drive but never test if it still works. We put all this faith in a single point of failure and then act surprised when it breaks. There's no shortcut for being careful and having a plan B.
