Spent $60 on a password manager and it saved my whole online life last month

My main email got hit with a bunch of weird login attempts, but because I had a different, strong password for everything from the manager, nothing else got taken over. I never would have made all those unique codes without it. Do you guys think a paid manager is worth it over a free one?

Honestly, I was in the free-only camp for years. What changed for me was needing to share some secure info with family. The paid version of my manager made that safe and easy in a way the free tier just didn't. For that one feature alone, the few bucks a year feels worth it now.

That's exactly how they get you to upgrade, honestly.

That "few bucks a year" part is what I always wonder about though. You say it's worth it now, but how much did you spend before you hit that point where the paid version actually mattered? I've been down that road before where I paid for a year just to try, barely used the extra features, and then felt dumb for not just sticking with free. Was there a specific moment where you realized the free tier just wasn't cutting it anymore, or was it more of a steady build up? I'm just trying to figure out if it's actually a need or if they're just good at making you THINK you need it, you know?
