The Uber driver who made me ditch my road trip playlist

Last Friday I'm driving through Nashville with my buddy and a Lyft driver pulls up next to us at a red light. He rolls down his window and yells 'turn it up!' so I crank the volume on 'Cherub Rock' by Smashing Pumpkins. He just nods and gives me a thumbs up, then we both blasted it through the intersection. That moment made me realize some songs are meant to be shared with strangers. What's the best random car-to-car music moment you've had?

It's a nice little story and all but... it's really not that deep is it. Some guy nodded at your music in traffic, it happens all the time. I've had people roll down their window to yell at me for blasting country music too loud, doesn't mean I'm gonna write a whole post about it. Feels like people just oversell these random tiny moments into something they're not. A thumbs up at a red light isn't some profound connection, it's just two people stuck in traffic.

Wait, is it really that weird to find meaning in a small moment? I get what you're saying about overselling, but I think it's more about what that moment says about being seen, you know? Like when someone at a coffee shop compliments your shoes, it's not a huge deal but it can still make your day way better. I've had a guy in a pickup truck nod along to my music at a stoplight and it felt good, not because it was profound but because for two seconds we were on the same wavelength (even if we never talk again). To me, those little things add up and they're worth noticing. Not everything has to be deep to matter.

Wait, did the truck guy at least have good taste in music?
