That $200 load cell I bought for my crane was a total waste
Picked up a fancy load cell from a supplier in Tulsa a few months back. Thought it would give me better precision on my crawler crane, but the thing started drifting on readings by week two. I lost about $200 on it after forgetting the return window. Any of you guys had bad luck with aftermarket load monitoring gear?

I lost about $200 on it after forgetting the return window" - bro that's rough, I'd be kicking myself for a month. Honestly though, aftermarket load cells are a total crapshoot. I tried one from a random eBay seller once and it read 10% lighter than my actual hook's capacity. Would've been a real bad day if I didn't double check with my old trusty scale. Sometimes you gotta pay the stupid tax and learn the hard way, you know?

Hold on, is it really that serious? I mean yeah it's annoying but $200 isn't life changing money unless you're really stretched thin. Plenty of folks blow that on a night out and don't think twice about it.
