Unpopular opinion: small talk with coworkers is not a waste of time, it saved my job
I got laid off from my warehouse gig in Tampa 5 months back because I kept to myself and nobody knew my name when cuts came. Now I spend 10 minutes a day just chatting with the guys on my crew, and when the boss needed someone to train new hires, three people vouched for me. Anyone else notice the quiet ones get cut first?

Learned that lesson the hard way too. Being cool with people is job security nobody talks about.
