My car battery died at a gas station in Ohio last week and I fixed it with a pocket knife and some duct tape.

The terminal clamp was completely corroded off and I had to scrape it clean and jam the cable back on tight just to get home - has anyone else had a roadside fix actually work better than you expected?

Did you ever think that duct tape is basically the only thing keeping half the cars on the road running?

You know what, you might actually be right about that. Used to think duct tape was just for temporary fixes, but then my buddy's muffler was hanging on by a thread and a couple wraps of the stuff kept it on for like six months. That stuff can hold up to some serious heat and vibration if you get the good kind.

Six months on a muffler? That's wild man, I figured the heat would cook the adhesive off in a week. Guess I've been sleeping on the high-grade stuff.
