I used to think all those 'save the bees' people were overreacting until my neighbor's garden died

My neighbor in Austin had this huge garden full of veggies and flowers for years, but last summer it just didn't produce. He told me his squash yield dropped from about 30 pounds to maybe 5, and his tomatoes were tiny. He tracked it and realized he saw maybe one bumblebee the whole season, when he used to see dozens. It wasn't just a bad year, it's been a steady drop over the past three. Now I get why people are freaking out. Has anyone else seen a real drop in bugs where they live?

I thought it was just hype too... until my own flowers stopped getting pollinated.

Feel that hard, @felixramirez. My tomato plants were a total bust last year, which was my own dumb lesson. It's easy to brush stuff off until it's happening in your own backyard.
