Warning: a bad pour on a 20x30 slab in Phoenix last week took us 14 hours to fix the surface.
The mix was too wet from the plant, and we had to fight it with extra dry shake and a magnesium float for what felt like forever, so always double-check that slump before they leave the site, right?

Remember that slump test is your first line of defense, but what about the truck's drum speed? A driver trying to save time can add water and spin it fast, making the top look okay but hiding soup underneath. Saw a crew get fooled because they only checked the first bit out of the chute. The whole load was over-mixed and air-entrained to death by the time they poured the middle. Now you're fighting a losing battle with the finish before you even start.
