When my pour over decided to overflow everywhere

I was at my kitchen counter in Seattle last Tuesday, trying out a new single-origin from that little roaster on 15th. I guess I ground the beans too fine because the water just stopped flowing and the filter collapsed... sent coffee and grounds all over my counter and onto my white rug. Spent 20 minutes scrubbing the stain before giving up and just accepting my rug has a permanent brown spot now. Has anyone else had a filter blowout like that or is it just me?

I don't know, it sounds like you're making a pretty big deal out of a little coffee spill. Rugs get stains, it happens. Maybe it's just me but scrubbing for 20 minutes seems like overkill unless it was some kind of heirloom rug. A brown spot on a white rug is just part of the deal if you're going to pour coffee near it. Life goes on, you know?
