Spent $60 on a fancy coffee subscription and got burned
I signed up for this roastery out of Portland, Oregon, called 'Highline Roasters', after seeing them hyped on Instagram. Paid $60 for a three-bag sampler, and every single bag tasted like burnt popcorn. I tried different grind settings, water temps, the whole deal, but nope, just ash. Anyone else fall for a social media ad that turned out to be garbage?

Yeah that burnt popcorn taste is a dead giveaway they're overroasting their beans.

Did you try a lighter roast just to see if it's actually the beans or the roasting?
