Why does nobody talk about how much food delivery packaging we waste?

I started noticing this last month when I ordered from three different places in one week. Each meal came wrapped in plastic bags, foil wrappers, cardboard boxes, and little sauce cups that all went straight to the trash. I live in Austin and the recycling bin was totally full after just two dinners. It got me thinking about carbon footprint from all that extra waste piling up in landfills. Have you found any restaurants here that use less packaging or take back containers?

And here I am thinking I'm saving the planet by ordering takeout instead of driving to the restaurant, but I'm probably making it worse with a mountain of plastic containers, right?

Read somewhere that a single plastic takeout container can take HUNDREDS of years to break down, and most places still don't actually recycle those things. So yeah, it's a real trade-off, but at least you're not burning gas, right?
