PSA: My street in Portland looked like a parking lot for years, but a new bus lane cut drive times in half.
I argued against the lane removal for months, but the traffic flow data from the city's report proved me wrong. Has your town tried something similar that actually worked?

Oh man, I saw a study about how bus lanes can actually speed things up for everyone... even drivers.

Wait, that's not totally right. The study probably said bus lanes help traffic flow overall, but they don't make every single driver's trip faster. If you're stuck behind a bus in the one lane left for cars, you're going slower. The win is that way more people move through the area on the bus, so the whole system is better. It's a trade-off, not a free speed boost for every car.
