DAE give their rods a quick wipe down before packing up?
I picked up this habit after finding rust spots and it keeps everything in better shape.

Make sure to dry the reel seat and guides too, not just the rod blank. I've seen saltwater RUST ruin a nice setup in just one season if you're not CAREFUL. Sometimes I even use a silicone spray on a rag for an extra layer of protection, especially before long storage. It takes two minutes but saves a lot of hassle and money down the line.

True lol. I’m so bad about that stuff and always pay for it later. Good tip from @the_riley about the silicone spray.

What do you wipe yours down with? I keep an old microfiber rag in my bag just for a quick dry pass, and it gets into the guides way better than my shirt sleeve. That silicone on a rag trick is a solid move for the off season too, ever try that?
