Pro tip: Stop cutting your seam tape so short. I see guys leaving an inch gap and it always peels up. Use a full 6 inches past the seam line, every time.

My brother in law tried that inch gap trick on his rain jacket last fall. By the time we got to the trailhead, the tape on his shoulder was flapping like a tiny white flag of surrender. I use the full six inches now, even if it feels like overkill. That extra length is the difference between a quick fix and a permanent repair.

Totally agree, that extra length makes all the difference. @rose_craig97 is right about it feeling like overkill until you see it hold up. I learned the hard way too, but now my gear stays fixed.
