Threw $300 down the drain on a 'career coach' who just read me LinkedIn articles

I hired this career coach in Chicago last month because I was stuck in my admin job. She charged me $150 per session and after two meetings she basically just told me to update my resume and network more. I could have gotten that advice for free from a blog post. Has anyone else paid for career coaching and regretted it?

Asked them politely first, gave them 48 hours. When nothing happened, I went straight to my bank and filed a chargeback. Took about a week but the money came back.

@drew965 nailed it, that's exactly the move. If they're just reading you stuff you could've Googled, you're not paying for coaching, you're paying for a lecture.
