That $200 'career coaching' call that was basically just a sales pitch

Paid a career coach $200 for a 30-minute call last month and all she did was try to sell me her $1500 course. Didn't even look at my resume. Has anyone actually gotten real help from these people or are they all just pushing packages?

Hold up, she didn't even glance at your resume? That's insane. I paid a "sales coach" once for a similar call and he spent the first ten minutes asking me about my car, then tried to sell me his "millionaire mindset" bootcamp. It's like they all read from the same script - "Oh, your problem is definitely fixable with my premium program." These people are just sellers, not helpers.

My cousin paid $300 for a "career strategy session" and the guy spent half the time talking about his own Tesla and then suggested she start a YouTube channel. I get where you're coming from, but I think a lot of these people genuinely believe they're helping, they just have a really broken method. The problem is they build their whole system around selling the next package, so the first conversation is always a sales pitch disguised as a consult. It feels dishonest, but I think they'd argue they're just showing you what's possible if you really commit to their program.
