Tried to fix a friend's reputation on Twitter and ended up getting ratio'd myself
So last month my buddy Dave got dragged on Twitter because someone clipped a 10 second video of him saying something dumb at a bar. I thought hey, I know the full context, let me just post a calm explanation thread. Within 2 hours I had 400 replies calling me a bootlicker and some guy dug up a tweet I made in 2016 about pineapple on pizza. I mean the original clip wasn't even that bad, Dave was just making a joke about his own job. But now my own timeline is full of angry people I've never met. I actually had to mute my notifications for three days because it stressed me out. Has anyone else tried defending someone and just made everything worse for everyone? Idk maybe it's just me but social media feels like a trap sometimes.

Yeah been there, just delete the thread and move on. Some fights aren't worth it.
