That time a neighbor tried to cancel me over a parking spot
Last Saturday, I parked in front of my own house, and this guy from three doors down came out screaming that I was "taking up space" that belonged to the whole block. He posted my license plate on Nextdoor calling me a selfish jerk, and then I found out he’d been complaining to the HOA about me for months without ever saying a word to my face. Has anyone else had a neighbor try to start a public shaming thing over something that tiny?

Did you ever talk to the guy face to face before all this happened? Parking drama is annoying but sounds like he just wanted control, not a real solution.

Yeah I used to think the same way @elizabeth900, honestly I figured people just got too worked up over parking and there was always a way to work it out. But after dealing with this guy for a few weeks, I totally changed my mind. He never once tried to talk it out or compromise, he just kept escalating things and leaving nasty notes on my windshield. When I finally tried to approach him in the lot he just yelled at me and walked away before I could even get a word in. It really showed me that some people aren't looking for a solution, they just want to win and feel like they're in charge. Now I see that parking drama can actually be a huge red flag for a much bigger control issue.

Tbh that parking lot drama is wild when people take it that far. I had a buddy who went through something similar - his neighbor kept screaming at guests who parked near his house, even called the cops on them once. Turned out the dude was just looking for any excuse to flex on people because he had zero power at his job or home life. My buddy finally just started parking two houses down and the guy lost his mind over it, sending letters to the whole street. Some people really do make parking their whole personality when they got nothing better going on.
