Had a client bring in a Leica M3 last week that had been 'cleaned' with WD-40. The shutter was a sticky mess. What's the worst 'home repair' you've had to undo?

Honestly, @gavinramirez, I used to think a little WD-40 was fine for squeaky hinges. Tbh, that changed after seeing a Nikon F where someone sprayed the whole mirror box. The foam turned to goo and the mirror just stuck. Felt so bad for that camera. Ngl, some home fixes just make the whole problem ten times worse.

Ugh, WD-40 on a Leica? That hurts. Saw a Pentax K1000 once where someone "fixed" the light seals with super glue. Had to chisel it out.
