Am I the only one who thinks the QME system is rigged against workers?
I had my QME last month in San Jose and the doctor spent maybe 15 minutes with me. He barely looked at my MRI or my work notes. Then his report said I was only 5% disabled. My own doctor says I'm at least 25% from my back injury. I've been fighting for 8 months now. Anyone else get a QME that felt totally one-sided?

Ugh, that sucks so much, I'm sorry.

actually i've had pretty different experiences with this kind of thing. in my case it ended up being a learning curve more than a total disaster. took me a few tries to figure out what worked for me specifically. your mileage may vary but i wouldn't write it off completely just yet.

Yeah but I've seen how these QME doctors operate and honestly most of them are pretty biased toward the insurance side from the start. My buddy went through this in Fresno and his QME spent more time looking at old surveillance photos than his actual medical records. Just feels like the system is set up to minimize payouts no matter what your own doctor says.
