Back when I used to fish cat5e through drop ceilings with a fishtape and a prayer
Back in the day I'd spend 20 minutes wrestling that tape through insulation and ductwork, but last week I tried one of those fiberglass push rods for a tough run and had it done in under 5. Has anyone else switched and never looked back?

Oh man, that's the way it goes with most tools once you find one that just works. It's like going from a hand saw to a circular saw - you look back and wonder why you put up with the struggle for so long. Same thing happened to me with my ratchet set years ago. Had this old clunky one that would skip teeth and drive me nuts for years. Finally picked up a decent one with a finer tooth count and now I wouldn't go back if you paid me. The fiberglass rods are the same deal - once you know better, you do better. It's just human nature to stick with what we know until something else proves itself.

...and honestly those old metal tapes would kink up on me more than I want to admit. The fiberglass rods feel like cheating compared to that. Have you noticed if they hold up better in cold attics or do they get brittle after a few seasons?
