That trick with using a heat gun on stubborn edge banding actually saved my bacon

Bought a cheap glue-on roll from a lumber yard in Tulsa and it kept peeling after 2 days. Tried their tip of hitting it with a heat gun on low for 10 seconds then pressing with a block and it's held solid for 3 weeks now. Anyone else got a go-to fix for bad pre-glued banding?

Honestly was about to throw that same roll in the trash after it bubbled up on me the third time. Took an old putty knife I heated up on my gas stove for like 15 seconds and ran it over the banding like a flat iron on hair. Did this little trick on a kitchen cabinet door that gets hit with steam every day and it's been flawless for a month now. The heat plus pressure really melts that cheap glue deeper into the wood fibers instead of just sitting on top.

Glad that heat gun trick worked. I've had good luck with a regular iron on the low setting too.
