I always thought a bad review was the end of the world for my cafe in Seattle.

A customer posted a one star review saying our coffee was cold and the service was rude. I was ready to argue online, but my manager, Sarah, called them directly. She listened, apologized, and offered a free meal. They came back, loved it, and changed their review to five stars. Has anyone else turned a bad review into a loyal customer?

Reminds me of that time my neighbor and I sorted out a fence issue just by talking over coffee...

That part about defaulting to fighting in public comments is so true. It feels like the first reaction now is to get defensive online. Actually listening like Sarah did is what makes the real difference.

That's a perfect example of how a real human response beats an online argument. So many problems get worse because people default to fighting in public comments. Taking it offline and listening actually fixes things.
