Just saved a ton on a trip to Lisbon by checking two different flight search methods

I was looking at flights for a trip in May and compared using a general search site to looking directly at the airline's own 'explore' map tool. The map showed me a route to a smaller airport nearby for $180 less than the main search result. Has anyone else found that airline-specific tools beat the big search sites for certain trips?

Yeah the airline map usually just shows airports, not prices. Ben206 is right to ask which tool it was, because that sounds like a separate fare search thing.
