Found a $10 campsite near Moab last month that beat any hotel
I was driving through Utah last month and stumbled on a BLM spot just outside Moab for only $10 a night, no reservations needed. The view of the red rocks at sunrise was unreal, and I saved like $150 compared to the cheapest motel in town. Anyone know other good BLM sites near national parks that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Man that sounds like an absolute win. I did a similar thing near the Grand Canyon last year and it made the trip SO much better. Found a spot off some back road for free, just needed to pack my own water and dig a hole for the bathroom. Those BLM sites are a Godsend when you're trying to stretch a budget. You just gotta be real careful about fire restrictions out there. They can pop up quick and catch you with a fat ticket if you're not paying attention.

Yeah those fire restrictions are NO joke. I was in central Utah a few years back and saw a ranger handing out tickets left and right to people just having a little campfire in a pit. $500 fine for what? A few hot dogs. Now I always check the local BLM office website before I even pack my stove.
