A friend in Lisbon said my packing list was a waste of space

They saw my bag and said, 'Why are you bringing three pairs of jeans to a hot city?' I swapped them for one pair and two light pants, saving a ton of room and weight. What's one thing you packed that you now leave at home?

Okay but have you ever tried to walk in jeans that froze solid? That's a whole new level of bad. Some weather just wins.

Come on derekl79, have you ever worn soaked denim in a downpour? Wet jeans are the most miserable thing to wear, they just never dry. That's a pretty solid argument against any weather.
