PSA: The $3 thrift store pressure cooker actually works

Found a Presto at Goodwill last week and tested it with a cheap cut of beef for 2 hours. Anyone else have a kitchen gadget that seemed too good to be true?

Check the safety valve before you use it again?

Safety valves get checked way too often. Most systems are overbuilt and the valve is the last thing to fail. If it worked fine last time, it's probably fine now. Constant checking just wastes time and can even wear out the parts.
