Used to think pre-made pizza dough was a waste of money... until I actually did the math
My buddy Mark from the office kept telling me I was crazy for making my own pizza dough every Friday night. He said the store bought stuff from Trader Joe's was like $1.50 and saved an hour of time. I argued with him for months about how homemade tastes better and costs pennies. Then last month I actually added up the cost of my flour, yeast, olive oil, and salt for a single batch, plus the time running the oven for the stone. It came out to almost $3 and took me 2 hours of active work. Tried his Trader Joe's dough once and honestly could not tell the difference in taste. I still like the process of making my own, but I stopped pretending it was cheaper. Has anyone else found other shortcuts that actually save cash without sacrificing quality?

Fr that's wild you couldn't tell the difference. I feel you tho, sometimes the shortcut is worth it.

Wait, you actually can't tell the difference in taste? That's wild to me, I've always sworn homemade has way more flavor. Did you try the plain dough or one of the flavored ones?
