My friend told me to wait for the Target clearance sale in January

She said all the holiday stuff gets marked down 70% off right after New Year's. I went to the one in Springfield on January 3rd and got a ton of wrapping paper and decorations for next year for under $15 total. It was way better than buying it full price in December. What's the best post-holiday sale you've found?

The real trick is checking the garden center for marked-down live trees and wreaths. Got a fake pre-lit tree for 90% off once.

Honestly that January rush is a total trap... you're fighting crowds for picked over junk. The stress of digging through bins for slightly cheaper paper isn't worth an hour of my time. I'd rather pay full price in November when the selection is actually good and be done with it. Saving ten bucks feels pointless when you're stuck with colors and patterns you never really wanted. The whole thing just feels like a weird competition that isn't about the holidays anymore.

Skip the January rush and buy what you actually like in December. The good stuff sells out before the deep discounts hit. You end up settling for ugly leftovers just to save a few bucks.
