I dropped $300 on a 'professional' online course that was just a bunch of recycled YouTube videos
Saw an ad for this course about starting a side business, and the guy made it sound like you'd get these secret methods. It was $300, which felt like a lot but I figured it was an investment. I bought it and logged in, only to find the 'modules' were just him talking over slides for an hour each. The worst part was when I looked up some of his points on YouTube and found the exact same info, word for word, in free videos from three years ago. He didn't even make new content, just repackaged old stuff. I felt so stupid for not checking more before I paid. The 'community forum' he promised is just a dead Facebook group with no replies. Has anyone actually found a paid course that was worth the money, or are they all like this now?

Check the creator's free content first to see their real teaching style. If their YouTube channel is just hype and sales pitches, the paid course will be more of the same. You dodged a bullet by only losing three hundred bucks, some people get talked into way worse.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. I read an article last week about how a ton of these "gurus" just buy cheap PLR content, slap their name on it, and sell it as their own system. The article said to always look for a clear syllabus before you buy, like a real list of what each lesson actually teaches. If they won't show you that, they're probably hiding that the stuff is basic or stolen. What was the refund policy like on this thing, did you try to get your money back?

I get what you mean about the syllabus, but sometimes the best stuff is in the actual teaching, not a list of topics. A refund policy is key though, did they have one?
