Appreciation post for my neighbor's roofing advice
My neighbor Ron told me last spring to patch a small leak with roofing cement instead of replacing the whole shingle. I did what he said and it held through all the rain this winter without any issues. Anyone else get a simple fix that worked way better than you expected?

Did you check if the cement cracked at all in the freeze-thaw cycles? Quick fixes like that often hide bigger problems and end up costing more later when they fail completely.

Jumping in here but this kinda applies to so much in life honestly. People always wanna go nuclear on a problem when a little patch job or a tiny change can get you where you need to be. Sometimes the simple fix is the right fix and you just gotta trust it.
