Rant: I called my barber family crazy for 3 yrs for cutting their own hair, now I do mine on the porch
My cousin's husband cuts his own hair with a $30 Wahl clipper on their back porch in Bakersfield and I used to clown him for it every single cookout. Then 6 weeks ago my barber raised his fade from $25 to $40 and wanted me to book 2 weeks out just to sit in a chair. I said forget it, grabbed a clipper off the shelf at Walmart for $34, and did a number 2 all over in my garage with two mirrors taped to a broom handle. Took me 3 tries and the back looks rough but nobody at church said a word, and my wife says it grew back fine. What did you all finally stop paying for that everyone told you was normal?

Switched to doing my own nails years ago and never looked back at that $45 soak off. Watched a couple videos, bought a $12 kit, and honestly my cuticles look better than the salon.
