Hit 10,000 bricks laid on the Porter job last week and it hit me different

I was working that big retaining wall project on Porter Street and kept tally like I always do. When I hit that 10,000 mark it made me stop and think about how many walls I've built over the last 8 years. That number sounds crazy for just one project but the wall stretches three blocks long. Anyone else keep a running count on big jobs or do you just let it go?

Oh man that's wild! I never count but my buddy does and he gets superstitious about certain numbers like 13. He almost threw off a whole patio layout once because he refused to cut a paver on a specific count.

Used to think counting was just something people did for accuracy (like me, I'm a measurer). But hearing about your buddy and the patio layout? That actually makes more sense now. Maybe it's less about superstition and more about mental rhythm, you know? Now I get why someone would get thrown off by a number like 13, even if it seems silly on the surface.
