Unpopular opinion: you don't need a $300 tube roller to do good work
Had a young guy at the shop in Gary last month tell me my $60 harbor freight roller was trash and I'd never get a clean joint on 16 gauge, so I watched him fight his fancy roller for an hour and still get a wavy seam. I've been rolling with hand tools and feel for 20 years and my joints pass hydro every time, so I don't get why everyone thinks the price tag does the work for you. Anyone else think skill beats tools, or am I just too stubborn to upgrade?
