Mastered fitting up a complex pipe bend today
Always struggled with offset calculations. Used to eyeball it and waste material. Saw a coworker use a string and level trick. Tried it on a job this morning. Got the bend perfect without any cuts. Saved a bunch of time and scrap. Feels good to add that to my skills.

Question if that string trick is all it's cracked up to be. I've watched people waste more time setting it up than just doing the math. Sometimes old school calculations beat clever hacks.

String and level trick for offset calculations is something I've never heard of. How do you even begin with that, like measuring the string length to match the bend? I always figured pipe work was all complex math and lucky guesses. Saving all that material has to be a HUGE win for the job.
