Hit 500 pipe welds without a single x-ray failure today

I have been a boilermaker for about 7 years now and always figured I was decent but not great. Today I hit 500 pipe welds in a row on a job down in Baton Rouge that passed x-ray on the first try. My foreman pulled me aside and showed me his log book with all my numbers. That actually surprised me because I never kept count myself. It made me realize that taking my time on prep and watching my heat input really adds up over the long haul. Has anyone else tracked their own numbers like that and found out they were better than they thought?

Did you catch that ESPN article about the longest active streaks in sports right now @the_riley? It's wild how consistent some players can be. I was reading it the other day and it really put things in perspective. Your streak is seriously impressive, especially with how tough competition is these days. I don't know how you keep it going without hitting a slump. It takes a LOT of focus to stay that sharp.
