Bought a $60 magnetic drill press base and it saved my back on a high beam job
I was tired of hauling a mag drill up and down ladders for overhead work on a grain silo repair last month. That little base let me hang the drill securely so I could work from the catwalk without fighting 40 pounds of metal. Anyone else tried one of these mounting setups or do you just stick with the shoulder burn?

60 bucks? That's insane for what you're describing. I would have guessed something like that costs at least a couple hundred. Might have to look into that myself before my next high beam job.

You ever used one of those before? I picked one up last year for a similar job and it held up way better than I expected, solid metal frame and everything. Just check the weight rating before you buy, some of the cheaper ones max out at like 50 pounds and that's not enough for most ceiling work.
