TIL the board game cafe in my old town is still going strong after 12 years
Back when they opened, I was sure it was a dumb idea. Who would pay to sit and play games you could just buy? I went once in 2012 and thought it was just a fad. But I checked their site today and they're still there, even after the whole pandemic mess. They run tournaments for games like Azul and have a library of over 400 titles. What finally convinced me was seeing my cousin's kids, who are totally into screens, beg to go there every weekend. Makes you wonder what other geeky spots we wrote off too soon, right?

drew965, that's just the games I've actually finished.

Honestly, finishing that many games is wild to me. My own list of finished games is maybe a dozen, tops. I'll start something like Skyrim, put in 80 hours, but never actually beat the main story. @drew965 probably has a point about how we all count our play time differently. For me, just messing around in the open world feels like the real game anyway.
