Found an old BGG thread from 2005 that made me miss the simpler days

I was digging through some old forum archives last night and saw a post where someone was upset that Settlers of Catan cost more than $30. It hit me how much this hobby has blown up since then, with games hitting $60 and Kickstarter exclusives everywhere. Anybody else catch themselves thinking about the pre-hype era?
