Went to a friend's place in Denver last weekend and he made me watch the first episode of Dark

I've always been more of a comedy or action series guy, never really got into foreign shows cause I hate reading subtitles. But he insisted, said I was missing out. So I sat down and watched the first episode of Dark on Netflix. Honestly, the first 20 minutes I was so confused, thought it was a mistake. But by the end of that episode, something clicked. The atmosphere, the music, the way the story slowly weaves together. It's not fast paced at all, but it pulls you in. Now I'm on season two and I can't stop. Has anyone else had that experience where a show you wrote off ended up becoming your new obsession?"

Is it just me, or does it seem like the stuff we brush off fastest often ends up being the thing we can't put down? I mean, same thing happened to me with a podcast everyone kept pushing, I figured it wasn't my style, then bam, three seasons later. It's like our first reaction is just a guard, and once we give something a real chance, we find out we were blocking our own fun.

Subtitle hatred is the real gateway drug to peak TV, apparently. Next thing you know you'll be learning German just to catch the tiny details everyone misses in the translation. Enjoy the spiral, it only gets weirder from here.
