I finally gave 'The Bear' a shot after all the hype and I'm not seeing it
I mean, everyone from my friends to my Twitter feed has been telling me to watch it for a solid year. I binged the whole first season last weekend, and idk, maybe it's just me but I found it super stressful to watch. The constant yelling in the kitchen and the shaky camera gave me a headache by episode three. I learned that a show can be critically loved and still just not be for you at all. Has anyone else felt this way about a show everyone else seems to adore?

Okay but the stress is the whole point right? Like the show is trying to make you feel the chaos of that kitchen. Did you find any of the quieter moments, like when they're making the family meal or just talking outside, actually worked for you, or was the whole vibe just too much?

Loved the quiet scenes, they made the chaos hit harder.

The scene where they're all silently chopping onions for family meal, that's the one that got me. It's like the show lets you breathe for a second so you can feel the weight of the job. The quiet talk outside about the guy's kid failing math, it made the kitchen fights matter more because you saw the people. GavinRamirez is right, those calm bits make the chaos hit way harder. Without them, it's just noise.
