Warning: my Tuesday was a complete disaster because of one guy's 'inspiration photo'
A client brought in a picture of a haircut from a video game character, complete with impossible floating layers. I tried to explain the physics of hair for a solid 15 minutes before he got mad and left. How do you guys handle requests that are just not based in reality?

Ugh, this happens everywhere now, people expecting real life to work like a filter.

I just show them a picture of what their hair type can actually do. Sometimes seeing is believing, man.

But what if they don't have the time or money for that style? Showing a picture sets an expectation, but it doesn't show the daily work to keep it looking like that. You need to be honest about the routine, or they'll just get frustrated and give up. It's not just about seeing the goal, it's about knowing if you can handle the path to get there.
