Serious question, why do some banks make it so hard to move money?

I tried to send a $500 payment for a car repair last month using my old bank's app, and it took three days to clear with a $15 fee. Switched to a different one my buddy uses, and the same payment went through in under an hour for free. The difference was just having a clear 'send now' button versus a maze of menus and hidden holds. Has anyone else found a bank that doesn't treat moving your own cash like a big deal?

Classic. They profit from your inconvenience.

They make it hard on purpose, because slow money earns them more.

Actually, they make money on the float, not the speed itself.

My credit union's app has a free instant transfer button right on the main screen.
