My bank in Phoenix flagged a small transfer as fraud last month

They froze my account for two days over a $75 payment to a new vendor. It took three calls to prove it was me. Has anyone else had a small, normal payment cause this much trouble?

Watched my buddy try to buy a used bike rack online for sixty bucks. His card got declined instantly, and the bank sent one of those "was this you?" texts. He replied yes, but they still locked everything and made him verify his last three grocery trips. He was stuck at a gas station for forty minutes because his card wouldn't work.

Ugh does it feel like banks are way too quick to lock things down now? They treat every little purchase like a huge crime, even after you tell them it's you. Like, what's the point of the text if they're just gonna freeze you anyway? It's so frustrating when you're just trying to live your life and suddenly you can't buy gas.

Feels like everything's getting so automated and paranoid. Banks aren't the only ones either, same thing happens with my credit card company. I had to call them three times last month just to buy groceries at a store I always go to. It's like they forgot we're real people trying to get through the day. They set up all these systems to stop fraud but the fraudsters still get through while honest folks get locked out. Makes you wonder if the whole thing is just theater so they can say they did something when stuff goes wrong.
