Thought pineapple on pizza was a crime against food until I actually tried it at a party in Akron last summer

I was at this backyard cookout my neighbor Steve threw (he's a big guy who takes his BBQ way too serious). He ordered like 6 pizzas from some local joint and one was pineapple and ham. I made a whole scene about how it ruins pizza, called it a travesty, the works. Steve just shrugged and said "try one slice or leave." So I grabbed a slice to prove my point. Man, that sweet and salty combo hit different. I ate three slices and had to admit he was right. Has anyone else had to eat crow on a food opinion they went hard on in front of a crowd?

Three slices later I was backing up @the_rowan at my own BBQ.

Started out hating on pineapple pizza at a work potluck and ended up defending it. The sweet and salty thing just works on a greasy slice. Sometimes being wrong tastes pretty good.
