Went from planning second dates to getting ghosted after one comment about my job
I used to talk about being a bartender like it was no big deal on dates, but after getting ghosted 4 times in a row last month in Austin, I realized people assumed I wasn't serious or ambitious. Now I lead with my small business baking on the side and the vibe completely flipped - has anyone else seen this kind of job bias change their dating luck?

Started telling people I was a software developer instead of a line cook and suddenly dates actually showed up.

omg @ben662 that line "suddenly dates actually showed up" hit me so hard. I used to tell people I was a receptionist when I was actually doing freelance graphic design and the difference in how people treated me was wild. Honestly, I think a lot of it is just the confidence that comes with saying something you're proud of. When I started owning what I did, even if it was just side gigs, I showed up to dates differently too. It's not really about lying, it's about how you frame your own story to yourself first.
