Warning: spent 11 months trying to get my ex to text me back less, and it was the dumbest thing I ever did
I literally built a spreadsheet tracking her reply times across 4 apps to prove she was pulling away, and it took me until a friend at a bar in Reno said 'dude, just stop texting her' for me to get it, so what is the dumbest thing you have done to read into someone's dating behavior?

Back in 2019 I kept a note on my phone titled "signs" where I logged things like how fast my girlfriend at the time liked my posts. I had 43 entries by the time we broke up. The spreadsheet and the note are the same thing really, we just want proof for something we already know in our gut. My brother does it with job offers, my neighbor does it with her sister's phone calls. Everyone is out here building a case file on people instead of just asking them a plain question. The bar in Reno guy was right, and it usually takes a stranger with a beer to say the thing our friends are too nice to say.
