My date's car died in the middle of a highway exit ramp last Friday night

We were heading to a movie in Tempe when his old Honda just stopped, right on the curve. He spent 20 minutes trying to get it started again while I called a tow truck. I'm torn between thinking it's a funny story now and feeling like it was a huge red flag about his planning. Has a random disaster like this ever actually led to a second date for anyone, or is it always a sign to bail?

My cousin's husband had his truck break down on their first date at a gas station in Chandler. They've been married eight years now. It's all about how he handled it. Did he freak out or just deal with the problem? That's the real test. A dead car isn't a red flag, but how someone acts when things go wrong sure can be.

My friend's car died on our way to a concert last year. He just called a tow truck and made jokes while we waited. That's when I knew he was a good guy to have around. People show you who they are when plans fall apart. A calm fixer is way better than someone who melts down over a flat tire.
