The time I had to pick between my uncle's conspiracy rant or my aunt's new MLM pitch

At Thanksgiving, my uncle started yelling about how the moon landing was fake while carving the turkey. My aunt then tried to get everyone to buy her new 'wellness' powders. I had to choose which awkward conversation to stand in. I picked the moon landing one because at least it was funny. Has anyone else had to choose between two terrible family talks?

Feel your pain so much lol. My cousin spent last Christmas explaining why birds aren't real while my mom pushed her candle side hustle. I also went with the weird conspiracy because the sales pitch just feels so much more personal and awkward. You can kinda nod along to the crazy stuff without agreeing. Choosing the lesser of two awkward evils is a real family holiday skill.

Birds aren't real is the safer topic?

Honestly I used to think the sales pitch was easier to deal with. Like you could just say you'd think about it and move on. But last year my aunt cornered me about her leggings thing and it was so intense, asking about my budget and everything. Now I'd much rather hear about how the moon landing was fake or whatever. At least that's just weird stories, not a test of how much you love them.
